What the Beach Flags Mean (Sea Conditions)Green Flag – Swimming allowed; calm sea, safe conditions. Yellow Flag – Swimming allowed with caution; moderate waves or currents. Only swim where you can keep your head above water while standing. Red Flag – Swimming prohibited. The sea is dangerous due to strong currents, high waves, or other hazards. Do not enter the water under any circumstances. Red & Black Flag – Warns of dangerous suction channels or sudden drops caused by sandbank erosion. Black Flag – Beach closed; no swimming or walking on the sand due to severe health or safety risks. White Flag with Two Jellyfish Symbols – Alerts of a significant presence of jellyfish, usually combined with a yellow or red flag. |
